Frequently Asked Questions
What is motorcycle COE in Singapore?
COE (Certificate of Entitlement) is required to register and use a vehicle in Singapore. All motorcycles fall under Category D. COE gives you the right to use your motorcycle for 10 years from the date of registration. After 10 years, you must renew it or deregister the bike.
How much does motorcycle COE cost in Singapore in 2025?
Cat D COE prices fluctuate with each bidding exercise (held every 1–2 weeks). In 2024–2025, Cat D COE has ranged from $8,000 to $14,000. Check the LTA website for the latest bid results. The MyRide SG COE calculator can estimate your renewal cost based on current PQP.
What is PQP and how does it affect COE renewal?
PQP (Prevailing Quota Premium) is the 3-month moving average of the latest successful COE bids for that category. For renewal, you pay 50% of PQP for 5 years, or 100% for 10 years. PQP changes every bidding exercise.
Should I renew my motorcycle COE or buy a new bike?
Compare: renewal cost (PQP × 50% or 100%) vs. cost of a new bike minus PARF rebate. If your bike is in excellent condition and repair costs are low, renewal usually makes financial sense. If the bike needs major repairs AND PQP is high, consider deregistering and upgrading.
What happens if I don't renew my motorcycle COE in Singapore?
Your motorcycle cannot be used on public roads after COE expiry. You must either renew before expiry or deregister the bike. Riding an expired-COE vehicle is a serious traffic offence. MyRide SG will remind you 90 days, 30 days, and 7 days before expiry.
What is PARF rebate for motorcycles?
PARF (Preferential Additional Registration Fee) rebate is a refund you receive when you deregister a motorcycle within its first 10 years. The rebate amount decreases with age: 75% in years 1–5, down to 50% at year 10. After COE renewal, there is no more PARF rebate.
How do I check my motorcycle's COE expiry date in Singapore?
Check via the LTA OneMotoring portal using your vehicle plate number. Or store it in MyRide SG — enter your COE expiry date when adding your bike and the app will remind you before it expires.
